Group communication is all about exchanging information with multiple members in an area who share a common goal. Within the group a facilitator ensures everyone’s voice is heard in the conversation and encourages discussions, and participation to work towards the common goal. One common technique in group communication is brainstorming, which allows people in the group to form ideas without judgment.

Based on the image it shows about 5 people in a group setting who are communicating. In the background you can see 2 boards already filled with information taped to the back. The facilitator is the woman standing next to the paper with a marker in her hand starting at the next topic. She is encouraging the group to brainstorm ideas for lunch.

This relates to my work environment because of my role being a health educator. Facilitating workshops and group discussion is a major part of my job. In most settings I act as a facilitator, creating safe spaces for participants to share their concerns and ask questions. Additionally, gathering feedback and co-creating solutions with the community to work towards our common goal of improving public health outcomes.
